Post-movement 7
Athens - Glasgow
Take me to the starting point and I'll take you to the finish line.
The action "Move 7: Athens - Glasgow" aims to inform, raise awareness and ultimately activate citizens on the urgent issue of climate change.
The main body of the action is an ultramarathon which will start in Athens (Pnyka), cross Europe and end up in Glasgow on 1 November 2021, the day of the next World Conference on Climate Change, perhaps the most important for the future of humanity.
"There is nothing stronger than Need" Sophocles wrote.
The ultramarathoner Agis Emmanouil, modern Pheidippides will start from Pnyka and with the minimum possible production of carbonate footprint, will give the present 70 days later at this historic meeting. It will use the archetypal physical power of running, developed by Homo Sapiens and supported by our survival and evolution. The "explosion" of the race movement, in all the lengths and widths of the world nowadays, proves that the Homo Sapiens of 2021 tends to return to a life of health close to nature.
"I might go faster on my own, but together we'll definitely go further"...
